陰の実力者になりたくて! (The Eminence in Shadow!) {Wk 5}
"Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!" is an amazing anime for its unique story that is both familiar but uncommon as the character doesn't want to be in the spotlight or attract attention as most anime isekai protagonists do. If you're ever interested in a funny and well-animated isekai that isn't as serious "Shield Hero," I'd definitely recommend taking a peak at this anime. It's very lighthearted in the sense that the protagonist is overpowered not just because he's from a different world but also because he trained his mind and body in his past life to utilize the now-foreign skills in his new life. One of my favorite lines from this anime is "I. Am. ... Atomic." This line has the coolest sound effects behind it and the motivation behind this line for the protagonist is a real treat. Furthermore, the anime itself is very funny in the sense that the protagonist is more of an anti-hero and not because he's choosing to be a vigilante but more so because he thinks it's cool to have this self-created personality and aesthetic which is a real treat to watch as things fall into place without him trying.
Now, looking at the anime from a more serious and educational perspective, the anime itself uses a lot of katakana in the phrases so there isn't a lot of value in studying the anime. However, when kanji or hiragana is visible or the language is spoken, I try my best to study the language. The most useful part of the anime in relation to my Japanese studies is the opening and closing songs where I can look at the names of those involved in the anime where I see recognizable kanji or hear recognizable phrases in the music. Furthermore, the anime itself lends to the trope of the male protagonist being able to attract a lot of female characters which goes to show the anime is truly a Shounen anime which has the main audience of young boys who like explosive fight scenes, a good laugh, and pretty girls. I love to see how Japan has different genres and sub-genres which all meant to cater a specific audience like RomCom's, or romance-comedies, or Otome anime are meant for women. Japan really knows how to grab a certain crowd and utilize what they like to the fullest.
