This anime was absolutely thrilling and did not disappoint me one bit. Unlike most thrillers that involve young children, specifically humans, being trapped and then fighting for freedom, Shadow House season was such an amazing watch and left me in excitement and anticipation for a third season. Compared to an older anime known as "The Promised Neverland" which had an amazing first season, a terrible second season, and a fabulous manga, Shadow House - even though I haven't read the manga - had an exceptional animation and plot pacing for the two seasons it has. I really want to watch more and wouldn't mind watching it a second or third time. The concept and world building of this anime along with the expressions and characters are just so addicting for me. たくさんいいものがあるから、アニメが本当に大好きですよ！

Related to my Japanese studies, I think a common thread that most anime like Shadow House have is this view of emotions creating monsters which is very similar to Japanese traditional monsters or creatures or spirits known as よかい which are beings that exist in a spiritual realm and come from certain emotions or stories or lessons. A lot of anime have some reason for unreasonable creatures coming to life whether it be good or bad and it's related to the emotions of the person or people that it comes from. Japanese culture is very in tune with emotions and how it can influence a person's life. Furthermore, the anime had a lovely lesson of when we let a monster of emotions consume ourselves we lose who we truly are which is a very powerful lesson. In other related outcomes, watching the anime as an artist showed me the usefulness of using different kinds of animation whether it be drawn or CGI to display certain actions which I believe Japan is very well-known for using in many of its newer anime! Another amazing thing I was reminded of is how Japan uses both famous artists's music or even hires musicians to create just the opening and ending song of anime. Japan is very efficient and work-oriented with its sense of community and involvement of all parties in making or producing art.
